drill #2

We did our drill for emergency preparedness for the second time.
This time, we packed enough for just for one day and camped.

It was fun, but it was also a hard work with four little boys! They were so curious and excited that it was hard for them to just stay in one area. The camp site was very nice place. It was by the lake, and there was only our family in that site (maybe because it was Monday).
As soon as we got there, the boys started the grill so we can eat dinner. They also collected pieces of woods for the fire. They were good helpers for the most part, except that they all wanted to go in the water!

One lesson we learned from this camping was that camping in GA in the summer is miserable.
We were so hot in the evening. After we finished dinner, we got in shower(thank goodness! there was a shower!) and went to go get ice cream.

It was also hard to sleep, well, at least for me. I am not used to sleep on the ground. I was not also used to all the noises outside. Most of the sounds were calming and manageable, like the waves from the lake and some bugs and birds. There was one animal that sounded like a crying baby and that kept me awake for a while! It also did not help that Caleb woke up a couple of times, totally awake and crawling over and hitting me, etc.

In the morning, the boys got to swim in the lake for a little while. I thought it was a lot of work and not necessarily comfortable, but the boys sure had a lot of fun.

昨日、二度目の避難訓練をしました。
今度は一日分の必要な物をそろえて、キャンプをしました。
楽しかったですが、四人の小さい男の子を連れてだったので、大変でした。皆おおはしゃぎで、興奮しまくりで、あちこちうろうろしていました。そのキャンプ場は、とても素敵なところではありました。湖のほとりで、とても眺めのいい場所でした。しかも、月曜日だったからか、私たち以外は誰もいなかったので、静かでした。つくなり、バーベキューの支度をして、夜ご飯を食べました。子供たちも、木の枝をひろってくれててつだってくれていましたが、なんども水で遊ぼうと湖のほうに降りていっていたので大変でした。

それにしても、夏場にジョージアでキャンプするのは無謀かもしれません。キャビンなどに泊まるのはともかく、とっても暑いのです！ご飯の後は、皆でシャワーを浴びに行きました。そしてそのあと、アイスクリームを食べに行きました。

寝るのも一苦労でした。(子供たちはそうでもなかったみたいですが、わたしだけか？）テントで寝袋だけで寝るのはなれてなくて、寝付けませんでした。また、外がけっこういろんな音があるのにも慣れてなかったです。意外と、虫や鳥、湖の音っていろいろあるものです。ほとんどは、聞いていて心地よいのですが、一匹、ある動物の鳴き声が、子供の泣き声みたいで、それで寝るのが大変でした。あと、ケイラブも2度ほどおきてきて、そのたびに私の上をはいはいしたり、顔をたたいたりしていたので、昨日はよく寝れませんでした。（わたしだけでしょうが。。。）

朝、こどもたちは、湖で泳ぎました。とっても楽しんでいました。私にとっては大変だったようなキャンプでしたが、子供たちは楽しんだようでした。
