Recent project

When we got back from the trip, the first project Ben wanted to do was to get rid of the pine tree in our back yard. It was infested with pine beetles and needed to be cut down. It cost a lot of money to have somebody do this job, so Ben did it by himself. He planned very carefully. First, his plan was to cut the tree enough for him to pull it down by his truck! Well, the tree was stronger than we thought and he ended up chopping until the tree is almost wobbly. Of course Ben used an ax because we did not have a chainsaw.... Yes, he got a lot of blisters. We tried to pull the tree down with truck, but it kept skidding, not being able to pull at all. So Ben ended up pulling by himself. He did it, after working on it for three hours! Me, on the other hand, had a different project to do. I gave haircut to all the boys, including Ben. They all have same haircut, so they really look like they are brothers now.

旅行から帰ってきてまずベンがやりたかったプロジェクトは、裏庭の松を切ることでした。というのも、松をたべる虫にやられていて、勝手に倒れるのもそう遠くはない、からでした。でも、誰かにやってもらうとすごくお金がかかるので、ベンは自分でやることにしました。かなり慎重に計画を立ててやってました。最初は、ちょっと木に切り込みをいれてトラックで引っ張って倒す方向でやってました。ところが、切っても切ってもびくともしません！ぐっと押してぐらつくぐらいまでしっかり切らなければだめでした。しかも、チェーンソーがなかったので、斧で頑張っていました、ベン。手にはまめがいっぱいできてました。それで、トラックでひっぱろうと試みたのですが、地面が砂ばっかりでタイヤがすべって引っ張るのが無理でした。なので、結局ベンが引っ張ることに。休憩入れて3時間ほどで切り倒しました！　私は、というと、他のプロジェクトをやっていました。子供たちの、（ベンのも）散髪をしていました。みんな同じような髪形になったので、ますます兄弟っぽくなってます。
